Ace & Edy met at the start of 2011 in the magical land called The Internet (OkCupid, to be exact), before it was as socially acceptable to do so as it is today. Both were coaxed into joining the dating site by their close friends in an effort to push them back into the dating scene after painful break ups. Neither was on the site long before connecting with one another. Ace messaged Edy to inquire as to why Shai Hulud was still listed as one of her favorite bands in 2011. They chatted for hours learning about one another, and Ace put together a playlist of folk songs for Edy which she obsessively listened to on repeat.
Their first date Edy went up to Washington Heights where Ace lived at the time, where she met Rambo & Delta and went on a dog walking date. Ace later introducing the cinematic masterpiece that is The Jerk. On subsequent dates Ace continued to expose Edy to classics such as Rocky 4, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, and Beverly Hills Cop (1 & 2).
Just a few months later, when both of their leases were up, they moved in together into a nice two bedroom apartment in Astoria, Queens. That same year they both took the MSA basic riders course, sparking a passion for motorcycling in both.
For the past seven and a half years they’ve travelled all over the US as well as Hawaii, South America, and Greece. They have changed careers and places of employment and moved across the country with only each other to lean on. They’ve grown together, and have stuck by each other though experiences both good and bad.
Ace proposed while on a trip to Guatemala over Christmas 2017, with eight of their close friends in tow. They were all touring Tikal National Park when Ace surprised Edy by getting down on one knee atop Mundo Perdido (Lost World) temple. Having climbed an unreasonable amount of stairs moments earlier, Edy had a minor episode of hyperventilation… but let’s just go ahead and keep that out of the history books.
Ace & Edy are excited to welcome their friends and family in celebrating their love in Upstate New York on October 6th, after which they will embark on yet another adventure together, this time in Europe!
Kara Miekina / Maid of Honor
Kara and I have been friends since freshman year of Pratt Institute where we were both in the Communications Design – Graphic Design BFA program. The origin story of our friendship is as complicated as that of our native countries of Russia and Poland, but through a mutual love of Frasier, vodka, and Panic at the Disco we managed to form a bond that Moscow and Warsaw couldn’t hope to achieve.
Throughout the years I spent many late nights studying in Kara’s various dorm rooms, or alternatively, drunkenly passed out in them. We ushered each other through many awkward situations and broken hearts. When all else fails she’s been my one constant and I trust her guidance above most others. Even when we have gone weeks without talking, our bond has been steadfast… except for maybe that one time we almost lost our friendship over a heated game of Risk.
Together we have jumped out of airplanes, paraglided, bouldered, yoga-ed in kayaks, SUPed down the Colorado River, hiked the Adorandacks and gotten matching tattoos. We share a love for true crime, Forensic Files, old people, vegetarianism, and all the animals.
Kara & Ace became fast friends when we first started dating, and it brings me so much joy that she’ll be by our side the day we get married.

Mike Legendre / Best Man
On first glance, it might seem strange to some that Mike and I would be such close friends. Mike likes the finer things in life, while I have literally slept in dirt and been forced to investigate questionable smelling substances on my clothing. Mike is a bit of a sneaker head, while I will wear the same grubby pair of shoes until they fall apart. Mike strongly dislikes tattoos, while I have a tattoo of a t-rex on my leg dedicated to him.
But despite the outward differences, Mike has remained my anchor throughout my life. We met in 10th grade and Mike quickly became the person who picked me up and dusted me off figuratively (high school is an emotional time, you guys) and literally (at any number of hardcore shows). When I left our hometown for college, never to return (except for that year at Valley View, but that’s another story…), Mike remained my steadfast ally. Mike is the person who, when life is at it’s worst, I can text 3 words, and he will reply with even less and despite our lack of verbosity, things immediately start to make more sense. He’s a the George to my Jerry, the Garth to my Wayne, the Moe to my Barney. He’s the curmudgeonly constant in my life, and I couldn’t be happier or prouder to have him as my best man. Even if he does unironically enjoy Nickelback.

Scott Dell’Amore / Officiant
Scott is a father, husband, and teacher who exudes kindness in everything he does. When we were thinking on who we would like to officiate the ceremony, Scott immediately came to mind as someone we both love and deeply respect for the way he connects with people. Scott is a phenominal listener who approaches so much of life with love and humor and we couldn’t be more excited and honored that he agreed to be a part of this day.

@jaycagny & @virninja
Jay & Virginia Cagney flew out to San Diego to take mindblowing engagement photos of us, which you see all throughout this site, the invites and which will hang forever in our homes. They are both incredibly talented photographers and watching them work as a couple was such a pleasure. Thank you, you have given us a timeless gift.
@asubtledifferencedesign
Ryan Patrick Williams is a dear friend of ours and an insanely talented and prolific designer & illustrator. We were honored to have him create a monogram and logo design for us. He is so patient and such a pleasure to work with. His designs inspired much of the design collateral for the wedding that followed.
@ivyandgoldhandcraft
Ashley Eaton is a long time friend and brilliant jewler & metalsmith. She worked with Ace to create the custom, vintage inspired engagement ring that blew Edy away. She’s also working with us to craft a truly unique wedding band. Her work ethic and dedication to her craft is unparallel. There is no words to describe our gratitude for her contribution to our union and the heirlooms that will surely be in our family until the end of times.
@sonyapetlyuk
Edy’s mom Sonya is a costume designer and seamstress by trade. She has been creating custom pieces for Edy since she was a baby and is now hard at work designing and crafting Edy’s wedding dress. It has been a very special and collaborative process, one that both are sure to remember fondly for the rest of their lives. We cannot wait to share that work with you on October 6th.
We sincerely hope you can make it. You are the reason we are the people we are and this event won’t be the same without you (yes, YOU). Please RSVP before September 6th to let us know if you (and your +1) are coming.
